Khmer Wedding Today!

Last 13th of March 2009, it was my cousin’s wedding day. We celebrated it follows by Khmer Traditional Culture. The ceremony had started since 12th evening until 13th. Almost the whole day, we were so busy to do many tasks, as I also well prepared about few months ago for the preparation. Khmer wedding day is chosen according to the code of fore-father which involve to the history of Khmer and the beliefs to the ancestors, the god, or the guardian’s spirits. Khmer Wedding is mixed by the strong belief mixed up for both Buddhism and Brahmanism.

The picture on the left hand is one among many activities during wedding day. This time, the groom and bride is handing-feed to their parent as their parent did when they was a baby. It means that the son and daughter that they would always be grateful to their parent who raised them since they were a baby until they adult and get marry. During this, the parent get three kind of food from the groom and bride like Coconut’s water mean by The Sweetest Water in the World, The Sugar mean to The Sweetest Soil in the World.
